It has the advantages of water bamboo, reed, lotus, water chestnut, fish and shrimp searching clams, as well as egrets flying in the sky, frogs singing and birds chirping. The local people are rich in culture and resources, and it is known as "Youhu" in history because the King of Wu often came here to visit the lake during the Spring and Autumn Period. The park was officially opened to the public in May 2010, and in October 2011,Becoming one of the first 12 officially awarded national wetland parks in China.

More than fifty bridges with different names and shapes in the scenic area are connected to a winding five mile wooden boardwalk, running through the entire park in a staggered manner. The attractions of Taoyuan Family, Yuji Terrace, Jinli Cottage, Zhanqiao Shengqu, and Yanbo Zhishuang sometimes feel like opening a book of profound historical records, while at other times, there is a wonderful feeling of light style, cultural relics, and leisurely reading materials; And attractions and facilities such as the Wetland Science Popularization and Education Center, Bird Watching Point, Ecological Floating Island Landscape, Wetland Pond Landscape, and Wetland Science Popularization Knowledge Corridor have brought people into an educational field of science popularization, allowing tourists to absorb ecological science knowledge and enhance their environmental awareness of natural ecology. The completion of the the Taihu Lake Lake National Wetland Park in Suzhou has greatly improved the ecological environment in the west of Suzhou, further enriched the structure and connotation of the tourism in Suzhou High tech Zone, and has become a new landmark of leisure tourism in Suzhou.
After the opening of the park, Suzhou the Taihu Lake Lake National Wetland Park continued to follow the existing plan, accelerated construction, improved corresponding supporting service facilities, and strengthened its core attraction. Since its opening, the park has added tourism projects such as Tianqu Commune, Zhanqiao Shengqu, boat tours, bicycles, etc., and opened up a fruit planting area in the park. In 2011, new tourism projects such as the Expo Suzhou New Pavilion, Wetland Science Popularization Experience Exhibition Hall, and Giant Panda Science Popularization Hall were successively launched. The new Suzhou Pavilion at the World Expo embodies the delicate and elegant beauty of Suzhou, reproducing the original appearance of the Suzhou Pavilion. The cultural atmosphere of the 2500 year old ancient city of Suzhou can be fully interpreted and experienced here. The Giant Panda Science Museum is built along the water, surrounded by bamboo forests and mountains, creating an activity area for giant pandas. The unique double layered building allows visitors to observe the little things in the life of giant pandas, such as the "New Moon" and "Bamboo Charm".
While vigorously developing sightseeing tourism, gradually realize the transformation of sightseeing tourism to leisure tourism in the middle and later stages of planning, strengthen the function of science popularization education, build science popularization education facilities, and make it a center for ecological science popularization education for young people.
